Mark McCully

When Mark McCully was growing up on a diversified Illinois farm, he didn’t imagine a future that included CEO of the American Angus Association on his resume. Yet, his background — full of experiences from the show ring to the sale barn to the meatcase — prepared him to lead the nation’s largest beef breed registry. It’s a post he’s held since 2019.

Mark previously served in various roles at Certified Angus Beef and managed the Beef Improvement Program for Southern States Cooperative. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University and did graduate work and coached livestock judging at Michigan State University.

He spends his days both in the big picture and dialed into the details trying to do what’s best for all Association members.

Mark and his wife, Gerry, have two grown children, and live in Saint Joseph, Mo.

Miranda Reiman

Miranda Reiman’s  love of words, plants and animals was cultivated while growing up on a grain and livestock farm in southern Minnesota.

With an ag journalism degree in hand from South Dakota State University, Miranda spent 15 years at Certified Angus Beef and now finds herself splitting time between the Angus Journal and Angus Beef Bulletin teams as senior associate editor. She’s a professional question asker and life-long learner.

Miranda’s parents, in-laws and siblings make their living farming and ranching. That, along with the countless producers she now counts among her friends, motivates Miranda to make certain cattlemen have the information they need to remain profitable in the ever-changing beef business.

She and her husband, Mark, live in south-central Nebraska, where they’re raising six kids, one dog and a really big garden.
